This series is a collection of initial concept studies, started during my graduate studies, for a larger self-directed illustration project for one of my favorite children's/YA novels, Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. I wanted the illustrations to feel related while fulfilling their different roles (cover wrap, full-page illustration, and spot chapter header) in addition to capturing specific aspects of the narrative.
